July 9th – Bachata Dance Lesson
The Bachata is a playful Latin dance that is typically danced with soft hip motions, turns and side-to-side footwork. The music of Bachata is very recognizable for its predominant use of the electric guitar combined with Caribbean and Latin musical influences. Bachata is danced all throughout the world, including the United States where it is a popular style of dance in Merengue and Salsa nightclubs. Elena and Ramon will break down the basic steps and patterns in a relaxed atmosphere.

August 13th – Salsa Dance Lesson
Salsa is a sexy, energetic and fun partner dance. Unlike some partner dances, it is a very sociable dance – you don’t need to have a regular partner or any partner for that matter. This fun and energetic dance is the most popular of all the Latin dances because it is easy to learn and is fantastic for all ages and dancing abilities. Salsa dancing has many fast turns, exciting footwork, rhythmic hip movements, and lively music.

Ticket options – ALL tickets include one beer from Mt Ascension Brewing and the dance class. **Must purchase ticket before – we cannot accept walk-ins due to limited space 🙂
Couples ticket: purchase a ticket for you and a partner & receive 2 beers and participate in the dance class.
Single ticket: purchase a ticket for yourself & receive 1 beer and participate in the dance class.

Eclipse Community Yoga, The Gentle Healing Center, Loft, Core Collective, and several other fabulous yoga teachers are partnering up to celebrate the start of summer with you. We are pulling our yoga community together to complete 108 Sun Salutations, while also raising money for the United Way of the Lewis & Clark Area.

Together we will take turns leading you through 108 Sun Salutations.

This may seem daunting, but you do not need to do all 108! We will teach various versions of a Sun Salutation A to allow every body to participate. Take breaks when you need to, adjust poses for your body, or create your own relay team with friends.

Cost: This is a donation based community event. Suggested donation is $10.

– We accept cash/check, debit/credit cards, and Venmo (@eclipsecommunityyoga)
– For each $10 you donate, you will receive a raffle ticket to win a variety of great prizes!
– Raffle prizes include: B Mat Travel Yoga Mat, Halfmoon Deluxe Studio Mat, Halfmoon travel size cork blocks, clothing from Yoga Democracy, free classes, and more!
– 100% of the donations will be given to the United Way of the Lewis and Clark Area, to help meet the needs of our homeless community members.

If you are curious to know more about our unhoused neighbors, check out the short film “Why Should I Care?” on YouTube. The film was made by Hands on Global and Helena Civic Television. It focuses on Helena’s unhoused, the organizations working to help, and how we can all be a part of the solution.

**Please arrive 15 minutes early to this event so we can get you checked-in, have you sign a waiver, set up your mat, and you can distribute your raffle tickets on the prizes you are interested in.

Blocks will be available for use as well.

All 5 sessions in advance is $80. At the door pricing is $20/class. We do not recommend dropping in for a single class after the first two if you have never taken a swing dancing class before.

Join artist and Theremin scholar, Marla Goodman for a 2-hour workshop that transforms sound into imagery and back again! Goodman will demonstrate her use of graphical scores and graphical synthesis to transform pictures into sound using one of the world’s rarest and most fascinating electronic instruments: the Theremin. Participants can create and interpret their own visual soundscapes using provided art materials (Tempera KWIK STIX on poster paper), take turns playing the Theremin, and learn about the Virtual ANS Synthesizer. (Bring your smart device to use the synthesizer app.) Registration is limited to 16 participants ages 16+ or 10+ with guardian.
