Since 1865, the Montana Historical Society has been here to preserve the Treasure State’s story—good and bad—and share that story with its citizens. The Montana Historical Society is in the process of building a grand new addition. The Montana Heritage Center, when completed, will contain all new, world-class exhibits. It’s going to be amazing! While we are transitioning, all of our museum exhibits and the Research Center will be closed. In the meanwhile, browse our website for online exhibits and resources.

The popular Montana Historical Society Store has temporarily moved to the Securities Building, 101 No. Last Chance Gulch, on Helena’s Downtown Walking Mall. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday
