SUMMARY:Art Smart - After School Art Class
DESCRIPTION:An after-school art class at The Holter Museum of Art! Join teaching artist Abby Ouellette to learn about a different artist each week\, exploring their artistic style and medium before breaking out to create your own piece of art! Each session will begin with a “Meet and Greet” to meet the artist! Students will learn the artist’s name and a short history of their life before then exploring notable work. Once the class has met the artist\, we will then begin working with that artist’s preferred medium on a piece of our own. The final half of the hour of the class is an open studio exploration with students welcome to continue working on the day’s pieces\, start a new piece\, or return to work from past sessions. This class is open to all skill levels! Come with your own knowledge and the willingness to learn!\nSpeaking about artists\, meet your arts instructor! Abby Ouellette is an Illustrator originally from Boston\, Massachusetts. She is passionate about bright colors\, desert plants\, and creating work that is fun. Abby frequently explores the concept of girlhood and coming of age through her illustrations\, and brings a fun and nostalgic twist to them through movement and cut-paper techniques.
